I had puzzles, and tons of things Mom had me do as games on daily basis at home to get me ready for kindergarten! In fact, she continued guiding me towards being math friendly throughout kindergarten and first grade during which time 1st grade math worksheets was my constant companion.Practice surely makes perfect and I am very gratefully to Mom for taking her time to familiarize me with math even as a child. As a math tutor for 15 years, I have tutored hundreds of students from all the grade levels. I found most of the students were not comfortable with mathematics. More than 80% of them said, the mathematics is very hard. Why do most of the students find mathematics a hard subject and try to avoid it?

For example after a worksheet on counting, you can ask the child to pick out 3 biscuits and 2 carrots from many. Remember, a child is learning many new things at once. A child of this age has an amazing capacity to learn many new things fast. He can also forget them equally fast. Doing many interesting worksheets with cartoons etc would be fun for him and would help continually reinforce what is learnt. Give positive feedback and encourage a child. His finer motor skills are just developing. Do not expect or try for perfection. Do not give any writing exercise too early i.e until he is fully comfortable with holding a pencil. Spend sufficient time and continually reinforce the learning in day-to-day situations. Most importantly, it should be fun for the teacher and the taught!

Kindergarten Worksheets present an interesting way for kindergarten children to learn and reinforce basic concepts. Since children learn best by doing and since children get bored very easily, giving them well-designed, illustrated worksheets to do makes it easier and more fun for them to learn. Completing a worksheet also gives children a great sense of fulfillment. How to use worksheets for best effect: Give children worksheets appropriate to their level. Give an easy worksheet for a concept immediately after you teach that concept.

We know now that when learning is fun and exciting, the brain is actually growing many new dendrites that make connections with many other dendrites. The more connections the better. We also know now that boredom destroys dendrites. Small children quickly become bored with worksheets, especially skill and drill worksheets. Yet another reason to avoid skill and drill worksheets like the plague. Never allow your child to use a worksheet unsupervised. Some parents use worksheets to provide time to fix supper or add another load of laundry. Unfortunately, while you are npt looking, your child just might have practiced a mistake several times. The time you thought you saved is not nearly as much time as it will take to fix that mistake. If you consistently do these things, you might be able to successfully use worksheets; but, seriously, a few minutes of your personal time will provide better learning for your child than a truckload of worksheets.

However with a regular workbook, a child can do each activity or worksheet only once. A good option is to use printable kindergarten worksheets. These are basically digital versions (like ebooks) of worksheets that can be bought and downloaded to your computer from the internet or from CDs and then printed out. The advantage is that you can print out whichever sheet you wish. If you need to re-inforce a certain concept more you can usually print out that sheet again. Of course you will therefore need to have a computer and a printer.

If you are looking for printable worksheets for your preschool child, the array of choices can be a little intimidating. You may just be looking for a few pages to keep your child occupied with something more constructive than yet another half hour in front of the TV, or you may feel it is time you started helping your child learn the basic skills she or he will need for school. Whatever your motivation for looking for worksheets for preschool, there are a few points to consider before you decide which ones you want. If your goal is to provide learning opportunities for your child, you will want more than a few pictures to color in, although this is an important skill to practice. Between the ages of 3 and 7, the so-called formative years, your child is ready and willing to learn. This is a great time to start introducing the basic skills that your child will use for the rest of their lives such as counting, reading and writing. With your help and supervision, your child can do math worksheets, alphabet worksheets and much more.

Well made kindergarten worksheets can be interesting for children to do and can be of great use in reinforcing basic concepts. Completing the activity in a worksheet can give children an immense sense of accomplishment. Kindergarten ABC worksheets should have different activities to help children identify the various letters of the alphabet. The activities may involve very simple things like colouring, ticking, drawing a line to match items etc. Using attractive illustrations and cartoon characters would make it more fun for children. The activities should be graded, i.e initial activities should be very simple and easy (but should be fun with good pictures etc, so as to interest the child); later worksheets may involve a little bit more work.

This bundle is appropriate for elementary math students as well as middle school math students, high school math students, who need to learn or re-learn the basics of arithmetic. Many students slip through their early elementary math years with holes in their elementary math education. Older learners will feel the pride of accomplishing math skills they thought they would never learn. However, this software is not only feasible for young learners but for adults as well, who needs to polish and review again their mathematical skills. Teachers on their part find the program valuable as the math tests are scored and stored by the computer for evaluation of progress. The process is also simple because after taking the test, a personalized score sheet is printed along with an evaluation of topics requiring further study. The student can then return to the body of the program and practice those sections which were identified as weak areas. The use of the tests is flexible as the student may take Test A as a pre test and Test B as a post test or Test A may be used for one student and Test B for another. As a whole, a math software is a modern blessing for both learners and teachers who would enjoy studying the numbers instead of dreading them.
